Training Camp

Training Camp: What the Best Do Better Than Everyone Else - Jon Gordon

I am currently reading the book Training Camp by Jon Gordon. So far I i love this book it is got a playbook in it that teaches you the ten ways of life. The book is about a football player that is injured and doesn't think that he is going to make to cut on the NFL team. One of the trainers on the team basically specializes in stressed out football players and is trying to teach this guy how to be the best he can be in football and in life. The football player is not having any of it and just wants to be back out on the field. Personally I think that he is going to get cut or he should get cut but he probably won't get cut because it is not a true story and Jon Gordon probably would like his book to end well.

I am just getting into this book and so far so good. The book is about the no draft football player from my last blog and I am just now getting to the part where the football team is thinking about giving him a contract. he wants the contract but the football team doesn't know if they want the hassle. He is still stressed out about his ankle and it is starting to take him over. Read the book to find out what is next.

I just started this book and I am in love with this book. This is my favorite book I think I have ever read. This book is actually full of inspiration the main character Martin Jordon came into the NFL undrafted and had to play in the first preseason game to secure his spot on the team. He scores two touchdowns and injures himself. this is as far as I have got and I just keep reading.

Michael Jordan: The Life - Roland Lazenby

I am now reading the book Micheal Jordan The Life. So far I like this book, I am learning some things about him that I never knew like that he was drafted third overall in the draft.

Micheal played the game with the flu and I used to think that he played the whole game but he only played in two quarters of the game. I forgot that he also got traded to the wizards late in his career. So far it has been an interesting book and i hope to finish it petty soon.

Book Blog #5

The Pursuit of Happyness - Chris Gardner

I have read the book The Pursuit of Happyness by Chris Gardener. It is an okay book really boring in some spots but when Chris finally starts making money with that racist man it really intrigues me the book had me hooked. I just wanted to keep reading about how he did it and how he was going to meet this man who has no idea that he was African American. The book is a really good book and I am glad that Chris and his son Chris made it out of the position that they where in. I think that it is awesome that Chris bought that Ferrari since it was one of the motivators in him working on his business. I also realized what a great man Nelson Mandela was from the short part he is in on in the book. It is crazy to me the Mandela told the Ambassador that he could wait just so that he and Chris could talk for a half and hour longer. Overall it was a good book but not my first pick in the library.

I am going to be honest about this book, at first I didn't want to read it. I only started to read it because I forgot my book one day. I really like this book I have been reading it for some time now and it has really caught my attention. I like how he decides to take his own route on his life he just wants to be successful. I am very impressed on how honest Chris Gardener is. This book makes me think about how lucky and fortunate I am. I am disappointed that his son had to live through that though I hope that kid grew up to have a really good life.

Extra Credit 10/3

I am reading the book Through My Eyes a biography on Tim Tebow. I really like this book so far Tim is taking about more than his football career. He talks about how he goes on mission trips every year and how he makes sure that he pushes his team. I'm very impressed with Tim's leadership skills and how he is so humble. He reminds me of Joe Zimmer in a way just how they both play quarterback and how they are both really impressive leaders. Tim is now broadcasting for root sports his football career didn't end up the way he wanted it to but he is still pushing him self he says. He says if he cant be the best quarterback he will be the best broadcaster.

Through My Eyes

Through My Eyes - Tim Tebow, Nathan Whitaker

I have just started this book about Tim Tebow. I think so far it is a good book because it isn't all about Tim's football career it is also about some of the other awesome things he has done in life. Tim had to fight for the starting position at his high school and he at first was a linebacker. He didn't mind being linebacker but he always wanted to play quarterback and half way through his freshman year he beat out the senior for the quarterback position. Throughout his high school career Tim was a natural leader on and off the field. I am now just reading about his college career. I think he is a awesome dude!

Perfect Season

Perfect Season - Tim Green

I am now getting to the end of this book. The book is one of my favorites because it is almost like my fantasy to be undefeated in football next year. I don't like how Troy, the main character in the movie, thinks that he is the top dog but he is an eighth grader on the varsity team. Troy had to beat out the senior caption for the job and you can believe that the caption is not happy. I think that there is going to be a fight between the two. I think it isn't going to go good for Troy.

Perfect Season

Perfect Season - Tim Green

So far in this book "Perfect Season" by Tim Green I have loved it. It kinda reminds me of the football program we have going on here at senior. The main character in this book, Troy, has to leave the big powerhouse football school to go to a small school because his dad took all his money that he got from the New York Jets. He is the kid who knows what the defense is going to do every play. He is now trying to change the team around for good.
